The "RV Park & Tropical Gardens" is behind a rundown industrial park. I was not even able to locate the office (which was closed and nobody would answer the phone). The "Tropical Garden" consisted of a nasty swamp area, tall grass, dead trees and plants, and dumpsters.
For the most part, the park is ok. The only thing that I asked for was a pull-through and when I arrived, I had been assigned a back in lot with several tree stumps in the way when backing. Their website says pet friendly and some restricted breeds. Those breeds included pit bulls. Even with this restriction, there was a resident who had a pit bull and twice he was running loose in the park while I was walking my dog. The dog was friendly and kept away when I told him to do so. One night, starting about 9pm, there was a rap concert near the park with very loud music and vulgar language as well as many attendees using the RV park as a parking lot until after 2:30am. Not much sleep that night. There are also many fire ant mounds throughout the park. The price was right and most of residents were very nice. Park is bare bones though.
If I could rate this place a zero I would. We have been coming to this location long before he had any customers(probably 4 years). This will be my last visit here. It's an open field and NO amenities for 99.00 a night. We paid for our site and let them know we were a 75ft (motorhome and trailer) When we got here the owner automatically stated he had no place for me and he couldn't help me. "I don't need your money". After us changing sites and parking our trailer upfront we tried to make reservations for another weekend and the office lady said I can no longer take reservations from you. The owner is VERY rude and needs to learn customer services or just how to be respectful. In no way I was rude to him but he would not change his tone for anything. Will not be spending my money to help someone with that kind of manner.
RV Park & Tropical Gardens??? This has to be one of the worse places I have ever been too. So much so that I pulled in, tried to find the non-existent office, drove through the horrendous conditions, and drove right out to find another place to stay. If I could have given this place less than one star, I would have.
If you are looking for a nice and relaxing place to stay, I highly recommend that you do not stay at Daytona RV Park & Tropical Gardens. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I hope that losing my $100 deposit will prevent anyone else from having to lose their money or waste their money at this place. As a side note, I honestly think that any of the positive reviews for this place must have come from family and friends who have never stayed at this DUMP of an "RV Park & Tropical Garden".
If you like peacefulness, friendly and caring owners, beautiful surroundings, and large rv pads, this is the place for you. Great place!
bare bones.. needs work.. however priced right if you don't need any amenities and big lot to park. they have some. suits my basic needs but not exactly a place to vacation just jumping off spot.
I gave them a $100 deposit but, I was never given an assigned spot. So I had no idea where I was supposed to have stayed had I even stayed there. I called the next day to get a refund, but was told "The owner does not give refunds." and "It says no refunds when you make a deposit." I am a business owner myself and have requested several times that the owner give me a call so I could let him know of my experience, but he has yet to call me back.
